Yes, there are costs involved in certification. As an Independent Contractor, you're responsible for your certification training and any necessary equipment. The good news? These expenses can be written off on your taxes. Certification training costs range from $9.99 to $200, with most sessions around $69. Military personnel get a 50% discount on certification costs (conditions apply). We also offer certification reimbursement up to $99 for qualifying agents (conditions apply). Additionally, S Customer Service charges a 15% fee per pay cycle on any amount above $100 and a flat fee of $35 per pay cycle on any amount below $100, only if you are receiving revenue. These fees cover the 24-Hour Client Technical Support Help Desk, Starmatic® scheduling system, use of clients' systems, one-on-one support, security systems like DUO mobile and VPN, and our processing fee.
You, as an independent contractor will be responsible for taking out your own taxes and paying them to the IRS. We DO NOT DEDUCT taxes. It is recommended that you contact your nearest IRS office to discuss which taxes should be taken out and which deductions you are eligible for as an independent contractor.
The starting pay rate varies depending on the client you choose. Many clients pay per minute or offer a base pay ranging from $9 to $15.50 per hour, depending on your performance. Your earnings are only limited by your performance and the number of hours you work. High performers can earn between $13 to $18 per hour. You have control over your earnings!
You can work as many hours as you would like. However, your minimum is 15 hours per week as required under the terms of the Statement of Work (SOW) for most client business opportunities. There are hours for CSP’s to service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The hours available for a specific client will be outlined in the Opportunity Announcements you receive once you complete the Admissions process. (Subject to change.)
Statement of Work (SOW) is a contract that Client issues to SCSC that outlines the client requirements, pay and the terms of service for the agent that is subcontracted for SCSC. These contracts are renewed every 30 - 90 days. Failure to meet clients' requirements will result in agent getting terminated.
Certification courses are essential before you can start servicing a client program. These courses are an investment in your professional development, similar to training for aestheticians, realtors, or general contractors. You'll gain valuable knowledge about the client, call types, customers, and how to succeed. The cost of these courses varies, and they are required by clients to service their accounts. The course covers the client's systems, performance metrics, and other important information about the client program. It's your gateway to success!
